A little bird told me...

Hi Crafty Friends

I was dying to try out some of my (many!) new cheapo dies so I combined several on this class card. The oval lattice looks gorgeous, but I have to admit it drove everyone crazy, it was so hard to get the die cut out of the die. The sentiment and the filigree flowers were fine.
The bird is an old Stampin Up punch and the branch is Heartfelt creations. I enjoyed stamping and inking these to get texture that hasn't come out v well in the pic.
I wanted a massive floppy bow to finish it off, but gave up trying to tie one, and just looped the ribbon up and secured it with a brad. It proved a popular choice, so I may just give up on bows!

Happy Crafting folks

  1. Wow Jan, this is gorgeous! I also got the oval lattice, not tried it yet..had it months! did you try rubbing a tumble dryer sheet over the die or wax paper on the die as you are cutting..my favorite papers and love the bird.

  2. Thanks Pam, yes I tried tumble dryer sheets (rubbed over and run through the Cuttlebug with the die) and wax paper, but it was still really tricky. I'd love to know how you get on with yours.

  3. Looks great, Jan, loving your choice of the muted palette too

Tying bows on cards is over rated - especially since the advent of the LARGE rate for the post! I think the loops ROCK!

  4. Lovely card as usual Jan, I do like that lattice die but think I'll give it a miss as I'm sure I'd find it too frustrating!

  5. Oh this is just stunning, can imagine the mutterings as they lined up to die cut the oval but it was worth it, will have to come back soon and refresh you all on bow tying, lovely technique on the birdie too, hope you are well, sending hugs xxx
